Rabbits and clumping cat litter!!

Dougal has taken to using the cats litter tray, only prob is I use clumping cat litter.
I read somewhere that it can cause blockages if enough is eaten.
Am worried now if he eats it!
But he is going to the toilet there, what should I do?

I wouldn't have thought it would be too healthy for him to access the litter tray anyway, what if he jumped in it after it had been used? :?
If you really can't block him off from it then perhaps switch to a non-clumping bunny-safe litter like Biocatolet (paper based) or Beauticat (wood pellets)?

Hi,

All my bunnies are litter trained it is quite normal :? for house rabbits and they take to it quite well. You must use either paper or woodbased litter. Who's says it's only for cats let's rename it bunny litter

If he's using it as a litter tray then the likelihood is he will eat some of the litter too, which, like you say, won't be good for him.

Can you move the cat's litter tray elsewhere and put a bunny litter tray where the cat's one is currently with some of his poop in so that he recognises the smell as his?

Will have to do something.
I'll just cover it when Dougal is out.
Cat have another one upstairs anyway (away fron Dougal).

I haven't seen him eat the litter, just worried that he might.

His litter tray is in the kitchen too. He just prefers the cats litter tray.(dont ask me why)
Nutty me = nutty animals.
He nearly had my flatmate's hand off when he came through with sone walnut cake!!
He was jumpin everywhere.
