Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Ear Temperature?

I've noticed that Lagos and Blossom have different ear temperature even if they're in the same temperature room.

It seems that Lagos always has quiet cold ears whereas Blossom has warm, I guess snuggily body temperature ears? Or at least that's the kind of temperature I would associate with a furry animal. I know that rabbits cool themselves down by using their ears but can anyone explain why there would be such big differences in temperature between the two bunnies? Should I be worried or taking any special precautious for Lagos? :|

I'm not sure about bunny ears but I do know that when a cats ears are warm it means they have a temperature.

As you rightly said bunny use their ears to regulate their temperature. When they're hot more blood is directed to the ears where the lack of fur helps cool it (making the ears feel warm) when the bunny is cool blood is diverted away to prevent heat loss making the ears feel cool.

The difference in temperatures could be explained by one being fatter than the other or having a dencer coat making him/her warmer than the other. Also sleeping in a warmer/cooler area or squished against the other. Unless they show any other signs of illness then I wouldn't worry :)
