The fencing guy is coming next week - My garden will be suitable for unsupervised buns soon (daytime only) :D

have emailed about the rats as they are not too far from me, and told her if she can get them here i will take them

Those last two are blatantly snake owners! No one would offer to take rabbits unweaned! If they loved rabbits they would not encourage someone to take them from their mum and if they are experienced at hand rearing, they will realise how low the survival rate is, I'm going to complain about these two.
Also go to the site and rate these ads as poor, it will discourage people.

She is not a snake owner. The person who done those 2 ads is actually a member on this forum, dont think she has been on here for a while though. She posted a few threads ages ago offering to help out with handrearing bunnies, she even pm'd me once offering to help if I had any for handrearing, although not as if I would send unweaned babies all the way to Southampton anyway  :?

Hello! Im a rabbit breeder and rescuer, i love bunnies to bits, and im very experienced! Im looking for some baby rabbits at the moment any breed or cross breed, to join my rabbit family!

I'm sorry, have I missed something here? You are a rabbit rescuer, but you want to breed? Hmm... I think that you might be right, Raven_guest. Anyone who rescues animals will know the stupidity of breeding when there are so many animals who already need homes.

I agree it is very strange, I certainly wouldnt send baby bunnies for handrearing to a breeder. I cant figure out why someone would actually WANT to handrear rabbits, its a tough and in most cases unsuccessful job.

Not sure if i've done the right thing as Ive only been a bunny mummy for the last 3 weeks so am hardly the most experienced bunny owner but I contacted the lady about the 2 little bunnies above and she is bringing them over to me at the weekend.

She said she is having some building work done at home starting next week and needs them out of the way as soon as possible.

I will find a nice home for them in my garden. Their present hutch and run comes with the buns. It looks a bit on the small side so I will be finding them an alternative :thumb:

I appologise if she genuinely is a good person with rabbit's welfare in mind, but the ad sounds soooooo dodgy!

Sounds very dodgy.

I have emailed her to say out of curiosity why do you breed rabbits as well as being a rescue as it defeats the whole object!!! & asked why she wants baby buns.

Very odd.

Hmmm...... :?

The lady asking for baby bunnies who claims to be a breeder/rescue centre has LOTS of ads..... she also seems to breed dogs too!

They all say ASAP for the breeding ones, very dodgey! I'm not being funny but how can she sensibly hand rear bunnies and puppies, and take in pregnant animals and breed etc, she's spreading herself too thin! And the amasing oppotunity for a young enthuiast......scary!

If it wasn't for tha fact she needs someone on a Sat I'd offer to 'help' her just so that I could get in there and see whats going on!

The worst thing is she says she will take unweaned rabbits as if taking them away from their Mum and hand rearing them is ok :x :x :x :x That is quite different than taking an orphaned litter

im sorry but, dogs?, guineapigs?, rabbits?, budgies?, hamsters?

porbably a pet shop looking to make some money
or some idiot trying to start up a pet shop/puppy farm
no way is she a rescue, far from it!!!

Beebop
03-05-2006, 02:57 PM
Hold on....she wants a pregnant dog, pregnant or young hamsters (syrians or dwarves), fertile bird eggs, baby and female adult gps and baby rabbits!

There is seriously somthing wrong here!

Also, look at the dog add, she wants a pregnant, pedigree dog that is under 3yrs....anyone who breeds a pedigree is most likely not going to want to just give them away......oh I don't know but I wouldn't dismiss the snakefood theory or else extreme animal hoarding.

Well done, those photo's are worrying, the very green water bottle and what looks like a packet of cat food in with them. The hutch looks dirty too :( I'm sure you will look after them much better than they have been.

Lol yeh! It seems so! She says in the 'wanted' ads that she has only one other dog, and he's castrated.

And this appears to be exactly the same dog she offering for stud in the other! Offering a castrated dog for stud? How on earth would that work??!?
