Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My bunny is going blind....gone? Any advice on her care?

Hi,

One of my bunnies Bubble who is 8/9 ish had a cataract form on her eye about 9 months ago now she has one starting on her other eye. I've asked the vet if that means she will be blind when it totally forms and he said I'm afraid she will.

Never having had a blind bunny before can anyone give me any advice, she is bonded with Squeak and does not leave his side. They came inside for the winter as Bubble gets a bad chest and does not like the cold and I'm going to put them back out as soon as the weather gets better, she loves the sun and will sit and toast all day long

What should I do to help her manage?

Thanks

Maureen
