  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I previously posted saying should I get a new bunny to keep Esmee company and the general concensus was yes sooooooo.......

today I went to my local RSPCA fosterer and picked out a gorgeous 2-4yr old castrated male lop called Gavin  Im not sure of his exact breed but he is grey and white in colour kinda speckled !

I just have to wait for the home check lady to come and then hopefully all being well hes mine !!

hes been badly treated so is very nervous but hopefully wiht some love and patience he'll come round.

will post piccies soon (all being well of course)

Thats great news! Gavin, what a great name! I hope yours are as happy as mine (Rupert and Sarah! also named before I got then  )

Aww, great news! He sounds lovely. I bet with a bit of pampering he'll soon get braver. I think it's even more rewarding when you know they've had a bad past and you get to give them lotsof cuddles. I hope Esmee likes her new friend :D

oh he sounds lovely - well done for offering him a forever home! :D

Even if they don't become tame and cuddly, it's so rewarding to see a rabbit that had a bad start in life enjoying themselves at last - when they stop running away from you it's a bonus! :D
