Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

New Kit
New member here :D hehe. I got my lionhead rabbit in january and he was just 16 weeks old past on monday. I am looking to get him more room than the cage he currently has and i went looking for one. the only one i could find was the tommy 120 plus teh stand...i didnt like it because it isnt as free as id like it to be. so i thought of buying the sage hutch and putting it inside the run i built so he can have an upstairs, downstairs and a garden lol. basically a penthouse for rabbits. the thing is i want to keep him indoors, would this hutch be ok for inside? he will have lots of room and plenty of light, do you think this would be good for him? or is it still to confined?

cheers

oh and also, if this is going to work what would i keep on the floor of the room? the hutch would be on linoflooring inside the run, what should i use to cover the flooring incase the wee ****** eats it lol.

Hi, welcome to the forum

I don't know what size the cages you mention are but if they are used as a home base with lots of time out then should be ok, do you have a bunny proofed room for him to have a run about?
I have a 48" dog crate as a base for mine and lots of time out in the kitchen and living room. I do have a run for the garden but at the moment it is used to house my new bun until she can be bonded.

There are lots of pics of peoples set ups on here if you have a look around, this is a pic of the run I am using as temporary accomodation (I used to use it before I got the dog crate but it wasn't very secure for my norty french lop   )

As for flooring different things work for different buns, depends if they are chewers! I use newspaper in the cage as Brian would just wee on the vetbed, but lots of people use that. In the pic there I used old off cuts of carpet - but she was a very clean rabbit and would use her litter tray all the time.

Hope this helps :D
