  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Grrrr ignorance makes me mad!

I'm just talking to a lady on another forum whose bunny has been neutered today. The vet nurse told her that he would be fine outside tonight as long as he is on his own  and that he might bully a baby rabbit - so now she's fretting that she's put him through the op unnecessarily. I've advised her of course, but feel a bit silly, coz why would she listen to me rather than someone who is supposed to be trained

I reckon here your more likrly to get the right advice! because we're the owners!
Poor male bunny, hope he wasnt outside.... Mine was done on monday... and I was told she would be as normal the next day ... 4 days on and shes still not quite herself... but then come on here and you find out thats normal! thankfully lol :)

thats why I come on here too, so I can learn to do the right thing from experienced rabbit owners. :thumb:

I may be a new bunny mom but want to do everything right just hope I dont get yelled at if I am a bit ignorant of things sometimes.

Don't worry, I only want to yell at people who don't want to do everything right and aren't willing to learn

Well the bunny came indoors last night apparently, and he is still indoors now as it's been such a cold day where they are. Only thing is, she now informs me that 'she's not sure' if he's eaten or not  She's only got one rabbit for goodness sake, how difficult can it be to see if there are any poops in his cage and any food missing
