Too Confused!

Rosie

I keep seeing that Red Clover is bad for bunnies.

But

I also keep seeing that its alright for them.

Which is true?

Well, I read in a book that Red Clover may cause infertility. I suggest that if you're not sure, then you should just leave it out of your rabbit's diet. Better safe than sorry, after all.

Thanks. I didnt intend to try feeding them it, I have no idea where it grows around here.

I just wondered if someone could clear up my confusion.

:? mmmm! that's confusing as I'm sure I saw red clover flowers sold as a treat on bunny basics!
Yeah i nearly ordered the vine ball with red clover but opted for raspberry leaves instead :?

Take a look here http://www.galensgarden.co.uk/content/care/herb/herbproperties.php

http://www.galensgarden.co.uk/content/care/herb/redclover.php

http://www.allearssac.org/poison.html here it states its only harmful if mouldy as ours is 100% dried there is no problem. Uk Companion Rabbits site has the same info.

There is no way that we would sell anything that is harmful to any small animal. We spent a long time researching this and found a very high quality source to purchase the herbs from.

Sorry Bunnybasics :? I wasnt trying to suggest your product would ever be harmful or below a high standard.

I feel really bad now :(

It was just I was so confused with conflicting advice and opinion about what can/cant be fed.
