  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Could it just be a coincidence? Fudge had been out in the garden all day but i've just gone upstairs and noticed mess all over the landing Fudge has diaorreah too! :( and he hasn't bothered to eat his breakfast today either!!! :?

You need to get both your buns to the vet as soon as possible, this could be very serious if it's contagious, please take your rabbits to the vet as soon as you can.

DITTO. This is potentially a very serious situation......Janex

It could also be some form of coccidiosis - all your buns will need treatment if this is the case :(
Any diaorreah can make buns very ill and also dehydrate them - please get them to the vets :(
Sending healing vibes to them - xxxx

my Amy got at my mouse again, I went to get a cordless one but I couldnt get it working so only just got online.

Fudge is fine today, lots of normal looking poos. Amy is the same, she has not deteriorated at all. She still has very mucusy (sp?) poo, she's drinking and munching on hay and a bit of SS and she's still out and about causing havoc, she's just not charging and leaping as she normally does. If I could get to see my vet today I'd take her but she is not working this weekend and the others at the surgery are pretty useless with rabbits IMO. She has an appointment first thing in the morning tomorrow.

edit: her poo looks like frogspawn today!
