Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Family Day Out! How to do it???

Sue&Sooty

Wise Old Thumper
I would like to get the babies sexed now, they will be 6weeks old on monday. I have spoken to Sue at Bobtails rescue near me and she is happy to help me. She thinks it would be best if I take them ALL over to her to make sure none of them 'smell different' when they come back.

Now my question is.... How to do it?? I have one pet carrier and one large Rody tank. Holly is a nightmare to pick up and will try to escape at at the first opportunity!

What I was wondering was would it be ok to put the babes in the tank and Sooty and Holly in the carrier or do you think it would be better to put them all in the carrier together and deal with escapee problems once at Sue's?? :?:  :?:

As the kits are only 6 weeks old I would say take them with Mum as they should feel more secure with Mum around. Unless you are desperate to know which are which I would wait a couple more weeks as it will be quite unsettling for such little ones.

Ok Thanks

I will put them all together then. The babes tend to go to dad for comfort rather than mum though!! He is the calmer of the two I think

Other than Holly, who is the wererabbit from hell , they all happy to be handled... I'm perservering with Holly but have to wear body armour  to do her bum check each day!! She's quite happy to be stroked now which is an improvement on a few months ago!

If you are going by car, can't you fit the cage in the car and put them all in that?

What a brilliant idea!! Why didn't I think of that!! :D The smaller of my indoor cages will fit in the car and it will also make it much easier to get them out one by one at Bobtails!!

Thanks Elve :thumb:
