  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Fudge and Amy again

touie

Wise Old Thumper
Fudge has been given the all clear :D he still has a runny nose and is a bit snuffly but the vet thought best to monitor it as the Baytril did nothing and the discharge is clear and thin!!!

Amy has very bad diaorreah and has lost weight :( the vet said to stop baytril and I've got probiotics for her. So fingers crossed her tummy gets beter soon!

But yay no more Baytril!!! :D

yes poor little thing, she just gets over one thing and something else hits her! She only weighed 3.65kg and should be well over 4 she's so bony! :(

aawwww, poor baby!, hopefully she will put some weight on when she is better. Storm was fairly light for a frenchie, he was the runt :( but he's beginning to catch up now :D hopefully Amy will catch up once she feels better.

I don't know what do do with her, she's still not eating, though I did see her have a few mouthfulls of hay yesterday, and her stomaches making horrible noises, and she's only drunk half her bottle with the probiotics in, and she's not charging around like she usually does :(

fingers crossed touch wood! Both Amy and Fudge seem to be fine now! :D She's back to her normal bouncy self, still not eating many pellets but is eating everything else including the buttons on my romotes  her poos are normal, and her abcess seems to have healed ok :D got a vet check up on Tuesday so I'm just hoping that alls as well as it seems! :D Fudges bald bit on his back has healed and grown fur and his sneezing has been better! :D

That's great news that both lovely bunsters seem to be OK :D hopfully the vet will give them the all clear and you can breathe easy and relax! :D

guess who spoke too soon :( vet pulled the scab off and it was still a bit open underneath so got to put dermosol on twice a day! :(

awwwwwwww touie you do seam to be having a time of it along with me at the moment poor buns what are we going to do with them
