  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

went to the vets earlier and the vet thought it looked really good, she hasn't got to go again for 1 1/2 weeks if it keeps looking good! :D and I can stop the baytril on Tuesday! :D :D

I have been worried about her eating though, she's gone off her pellets :? she is still eating veg and hay and is as lively as ever. The vet checked her teeth today and felt her tummy and all was ok, and suprisingly she was a tiny bit heavier! :? Her poos have decreased in size too though! :?

very glad to hear she's getting better :D that's great news!. Don't know why her poop's have got smaller, maybe it might be the medication?

Hiya,

Baytril can upset their tummy a bit. Are you giving probiotics? It's a good idea to do that when giving ab's :)

The vet should have some, can buy online, you might be able to get them from a petshop.. depends what they stock. Vets probably the best bet if you don't want to wait for postage.

They're basically the bunny equivilent of those little bottles of friendly bacteria they sell for humans. The bunny version comes as powder though ;)
