Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vet in Bradford (West Yorks)

Can anyone recommend a good vet in Bradford?

I went to the vet yesterday and she was an Australian woman and when I asked her about getting Lola spayed she just said "I don't know, there aren't any rabbits where I come from"! This didn't inspire much confidence so won't be letting them spay her!

Any suggestions?

Whereabouts is Frances Harcourt-Brown, she's in Yorkshire somewhere I thought it was vaguely in that vicinity (though I may be wrong). She is THE uk bunny vet!

Is the one in Bingley the one on park road (Avenue Veterinary Clinic I think)? I used to go there when I was younger with various animals. Are they experienced with rabbits?

Hi Toffee
Yes it is the Park Road one.
They are brillliant.
My friend took her two rabbits there on Friday, one to be neutered and the other to have his front teeth out, they did a brilliant job.
I take my dog there and two cats plus my rabbits for their injections.
I would highly recommend them.

Hirds and Partners, in Halifax. These are the vets I use, and my local RSPCA use too. They have looooooads of experience with rabbits, and are superb. :)

Vets For Pets in Wakefield any good for you? The vet there routinely does neuteres for the local rabbit rescue.
Sorry to butt in here but just have to say those baby Orange Dwarff Lops are....  Janex

I think I'll phone the one in Bingley and ask how much (not that it matters as long as they take good care of her). I don't mind taking lola to the other vet for vaccinations but for something more serious I wouldn't feel comfortable.

One of my friends recommended Gatehouse in Allerton. Does anyone know if they have experience with rabbits and if they are any good?
