Mite problem and sore feet-rescue bunny

Hello,

I picked up a couple of bunnies at the w/e that were due to be despatched with.

One of them has a mite problem. I have an appt with my vet for Fri but is there anything I can buy to clear the problem up?

Also, the dear bunny concerned has sore feet. Is there anything I can put on the little man's feet to help them heal?

Any tips and advice much appreciated.

Love and hugs,

Nic xxx

.

you can buy mite spray from most pet shops..may not be as good as from vet but I've found does work and will relieve/start to deal with problem ..but do tell vet you have used it..
sore feet....I would bed bunny on an old towel as soft for his feet, this will need changing regularly as might get weed on! Also one washed in non bio..as bio powders can cause probs...
A little bit of sudacrem might help but only small amount, well rubbed in..... and try to keep bun from licking feet til soaked in..

Awww bless!,

Thank you honeybunny for your tips. I will try and buy some mite treatment on the way home from work. I will also get some sudocream and rub it into the little mans poorly feet.

Is there a particularly good make of mite treatment I can buy for the little lad?

Thank you so much,

Nic xx

'spot on' (the one for small animals) works well. i find it much easier than trying to either bathe your bun or try to spray them.

Just to say that if its a bad case of mites then treatments you can buy are useless you need ivamectin from the vet. Bad cases will need injectable ivamectin 3 times over three weeks. val

If you use mite sprays etc, the vet can give ivermetin because it would cause an overdose. The vet may give you a syringe of ivermectin if you ask.
