The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. How much water?

Just wondered how much water a rabbit should actually drink.

My pair seem to be going through almost two bowls a day. They get greens every evening and pellets every morning and seem fine but i dont know how much is a 'normal' amount.

I have 2 pairs and they have 2 water bottles freshly filled every day and both pairs only ever drink about half of one - the other one I always keep there incase the other falls off :D They have fresh greens every day too

Daisy drinks a lot and Fidget doesn't drink much. Except I never know if one drinks tons or the other drinks too little because I don't know what's "normal" if you know what I mean.

I'm fairly convinced there's no rhyme or reason to how much water Chomper drinks on a daily basis. Some days she'll all but drain her bottle in a twenty-four hour period, other days I'll find nearly a full bottle in the evening. She gets the same amount of fresh greens each day, though I do vary the greens from day to day. I'm sure different greens have different water contents, but I haven't yet noticed a clear pattern.

Are you sure they're drinking all of it? Sometimes my trio have fun running around and end up jumping in the bowl and splashing half of it out!

The amount of water seems to depend on the rabbit. Do they seem to be drinking more than they used to? Sometimes increased water intake can mean an infection.

I always let my bunny drink as much water as she needs. And I change the water 2 times a day (per every 24 hr)

I did notice last summer, my bunny drinks a lot more water when it's hot, than days like this month.

officially its about 100ml per day per adult medium size rabbit.

show how much these science guys know.

Hiya,

Bramble doesn't really drink much, he goes through a bowl every couple of days.

The rexes I fostered a few weeks back for Bunny Land though must have drunk a whole bottle every day, if not more! I'm not too sure why, perhaps it was the fact they didn't always have access to water where they'd come from, or maybe the cattle food they'd been fed on had affected their insides.
