  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

What do you use....

BOO

Young Bun
to weather proof the buns runs??

My Dad made us a huge run for our bun but sprayed it with green paint, this has now flaked off so we need to weather proof it but don't know what to use. we have some cuprinol fence stuff that says safe to pets but does that mean cats & dogs or all pets!!

Larry is such a chewer we dont wanna risk it

surposedly it means safe all all pets...and children. though i would only use it on wood that the rabbits would be unable to chew.

when you buy a run from a manufacturer they treat it with the fence paint type stuff - so long as it's animal friendly, it's OK - It's not like they are going to eat it from the pot with a spoon - a tiny bit won't hurt them.

cuprinol fence stuff

I got some of this stuff at the weekend to treat my hutch and run but its says to keep animals away for 48 hours??? where the hell am i going to put them for two days???

I need to wait for the flippin' ran to stop so i can treat it too!

Ideally you need to apply these products to thoroughly dry wood, if it gets wet after it is applied and not properly dried it usually gets washed off leaving streaks .... been there before
