as i live in the country and pick loads of wild greens for my bunsters, would any of you find it useful if i were to take some photos of the things i pick and post them here. i find many wildflower illustration beautiful but sometimes inacurrate when it comes down to colour etc making identification difficult.
for example in the books it can be quite hard to tell the difference between cow parsley and hemlock from a painting, but compare the 2 side by side in a photo and the differences are obvious.
there wont be much around for a little while except some herb robert and hairy bittercress etc, but if you would find it useful i would be glad to help out!

Wow! That would be amazing! My husband and I have tons of identification books for plants, trees, and mushrooms because we enjoy nature and hiking, but I'm miserable at looking at an illustration and figuring out if it's the same thing I'm holding in my hand... which I why I NEVER eat anything I find outside! But I'd love any help you could provide!

Yes please!! :D :thumb: :D And whilst you have your camera out maybe a few Rex Bun piccies too    Jane and Buns xx

What a good idea....always out walking, it would be nice to bring Jack back some fresh plants to eat.

main thing to check is that the council or landowners haven't just sprayed the area with pesticide though - We used to walk our dogs down the fields when I was a kid and it would be dripping with weedkiller some days :?

That explains why I could never go in long grass in certain areas without a horrible reaction!

Thats a great idea - I must admit, the field nextdoor has loads of dandelions but I keep a few in my garden for the buns cos they put weedkiller on the field too :(
