  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Advise please on un spayed female and neutered male???

I was thinking of bonding my neutered male with my female i rescued, shes due to be spayed next month is it advisable to bond them yet??Or to wait until shes spayed??Any advise please :D

If you have the space to house them seperately I would wait until she has been spayed. This is because you will have to seperate them while she recovers from her op and will have to bond them all over again. (though it may be easier 2nd time round). It will also be easier to bond them once she has been spayed, as she will be less territorial.

Thank you,was as i thought, would you know how long after shes spayed that i can introduce them?

If she's healed ok, my vet told me to wait at least 10 days for a bonding from scratch & 5 days or so for a re-introduction

I'm glad you asked this because I was thinking the same thing!

But Ebony is extremely territorial atm so I'm going to have to get her speyed soon because she's being a little madam!

Then we'll see... :D
