The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Sooty has a small lump, do I need to worry?

Sue&Sooty

Wise Old Thumper
I picked him up for his usual morning snuggle today and noticed that he has a lump about 1cm big on his shoulder with what feels and looks like a scab on. He has not to my knowledge hurt himself, he's an indoor bunny and I can't think of any way that he could have done this, he has not been mixing with Holly yet so it can't have been a nip or bite.

What I guess I'm worried about the most is that I've not felt it before yet he gets picked up at least 3 times each day.

He's is only a tiny bunster, he's nearly 5mths old and was castrated 11 days ago. He is eating, drinking, weeing and pooping as normal.

Any ideas? We've got a vet appointment on Tuesday to have his stitches removed, is ok to leave it till then or does anyone think it needs seeing earlier?

Thanks

he hasnt had a vaccination or anything lately has he? or couldnt have been bitten or knocked himself on anything?

I took rosie to the vets for her vaccination and the vets found a scab on her and i was really annoyed with myself for not noticing before but vet said as it was scabbed over it looked like an old wound and just to keep an eye on it and it seems to have gone now - so it could be something like that?

Is the lump hard?

No he hasn't had any jabs recently (haven't got round to them yet  ) but I'm not sure how they anetheatise buns, do they do that by a jab?

As for it being an old injury I'm doubtful as it is in such a place that I would have noticed it before. I think I might just keep an eye on it and see if I can changed my appointment to Monday

 Flippin' buns.. they're almost as much of a worry as the kids!! :?

they usually inject them with a sedative before giving the gas, so I bet that's what's caused it.

 I was kinda thinking it could be that too but not having had a bunster for over 20years and never having had one that had been operated on I just worry about the slightest thing. It is in the right sort of area that I would imagine a jab would have been given.

Sometimes reading this board makes me worry more as I worry that it could end up being an abcess or tumour   or something equally as horrid.
