  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Title says it all really... What should I give him?
He is 6, so it may be 'his time' but I'm going to try and keep him alive if I can...

I can't be of much help afraid but I am sorry he is poorly. Hope he gets well soon. I'm sure someone here will be able to help x

Sorry he's not well Angie :( I think you just give the amount it says to give a baby on the bottle - It makes the small 'foamy' bubbles into larger bubbles of gas which are easier to pass, so I don't think they can have an overdose really.

I prefer rennie rapize if you've got any - raspberry flavour crushed in 100ml water and syringe as much as you like - It's got sugar in too so it gives them a boost if they're not eating.

Hope he picks up :(

I can never get Evo to actually take any from the dropper, so usually put a dropper full on his front paw to lick off, then another 1/2 hour later.

Thank you everyone... I saw he was losing weight over the weekend, but he was still eating so I've no idea what was wrong. He ate his dinner last night, straight in the bowl as usual, but had nothing in his stomach when we went to feed him tonight. He was such a beautiful boy... My Otley...    - these don't do justice to how much I'm crying just now...

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news :( he looked like a beautiful bunny. At least he didn't suffer and went quickly. I know it doesn't always help to hear this when you've just lost a much loved bunny. xx
