  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Trimming Nails

Quinn

Ok probably a silly question i have some nail clippers but im too scared to use them on quinn because he wriggles ALOT and i dont know what im doing!

Im taking Rosie for her Myxi Jab tomorrow - do you think it would be a good idea to take quinn along and get the vet to show me how to do it so i know what im doing - i know they will charge handsomly for the privelidge but the idea would be i only have to be shown once and then ill do it myself?!?

I did Smirnoff myself but they are a light colour. Chickened out on Chocolate - cos they were dark & she doesn't like being held. The Vet did them for free :D I'm getting them done again when Sugar is spayed.

Quinns are black so are rosies but i noticed how long quinns had gotten last night when he gave me my daily scratching - i dont know 100% if they will charge me they seem 2 change their mind every 5 mins on what they charge u for lol but i also want to see if hes ready for neutering yet as hes about 5 months now

I get my bunnies done at my vet cause I hit Iris's quick one fine and she'll never let me do it again. My vet charges $10 for a pedicure, but that's in the US so I don't know about England. I think it's worth it for when I'm home cause it creates so much less stress on them. Bonsley could care less so I usually do his and I have to do them both at school cause no vets see small animals out there. :(

For freeee??? No fair

I think it's currently £7 per rabbit and then it depends whether you're requiring a nurse or proper vet!
