  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My poor Keiser....

Brought him to the vet today worrying that he'd contracted snuffles. Vet says I've caught his symptoms before anything made it to his lungs, so his nose is likely just clogged right now. Hes on nose drops for a couple days....If he's not any better by then then we have to start him on oral antibiotics.....Poor Keiser, he's such a sport about all his recent vet visits though....I hope my baby gets better without the antibiotics! *Kisses his nose*

Poor Keiser, i hope he gets better soon! Lucky you canught it early and hopefully he wont need the antibiotics.

Get well soon Keiser

Awww you poor bunny!

My bun has a snotty nose, and my friend's bun has snuffles too!! hopefully the nose drops will help.

Thanks guys
His nose discharge does actually seem to be slowing down (I washed off all the dried stuff so I could tell easier.) Did that yesterday, and all there really is today is the whiteish stain from the stuff I couldnt get off. Am starting to be relieved...Only I gotta keep a close eye on Cygnus for the symptoms. - Jenny (vet) said it wasn't any use serpeating them now.....If he's gonna get it he's gonna get it.
lol Keiser puts up a nice fight with the drops though.
He was so great with the vet when she showed me how it's done......Sort of like little kids I guess.....Litter terrors for mom and angels for everyone else
