  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
Well the bunster is fine.

we picked him up at 4.30 from the vets yesterday....and me & hubby went out for the evening at 7.30 (as it was my birthday!) ....I felt like such a bad mummy

But he was in good hands....we moved his old hutch into the living room so he could be nice and warm and my Mum came to bunny sit :D

he was really sleepy before we went out, but he had been drinking some water. :)

I took my phone out with me and managed to resist the urge to phone my Mum every 10mins!!

When we got back, Mum said that Tommy had eaten some hay and had a little bit of a hop around the living room, and had tried to use his litter tray, but had misjudged it and had a wee & a poo on the floor...bless him. :) But at least we knew everything was working ok!

He's been fine today and has been hopping around good style. Eating a drinking, pooing & weeing as normal :D

He's been in again today and he's in again for tonight. He's not bothered at all with his wound, so will be going back out into his penthouse shed tomorrow!!!!
