  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit expert vets in Brum?

New Kit
Can anyone recommend a rabbit friendly vet in Birmingham? My bunny has snuffles and has completed a couple of courses of Baytril and eye cream, but it hasn't seemed to make much difference. When I took him back to the vets, the vet told me as long as he was eating and jumping around, I shouldn't worry and he'd just have snuffles for the rest of his life!! Obviously doesn't have a clue! I want to take him to another vets as soon as poss, but would prefer to have one recommended to me from someone who knows, rather than get another vet who is just as incompetent....
Need to act quick as I know Snuffles can get worse very quickly...

its true what he said about snuffles once they have it it will always be there all baytril does is hlep the sneezing just covers it up nothing will cure snuffles
its also contagios to other bunnies

Will try 608, they aren't too far from me... thanks!
It was more that the vet said there was no point in keeping him on the Baytril indefinitely than the fact he said he'd have it for the rest of his life that worried me, as I can't just leave him to sneeze madly forever. Thanks for your help though... :)
