  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

neutering - how long will it take for him to adjust??

sarattie

Alpha Buck
hmmm Harvey started pooing everywhere and trying to hump everything and generally being a bolshy boy, so we decided to have hime neutered as Buddy was really clean and great in the house and I dont want poo everyewhere and him humping the visitors!

AAaaaannyaway... my point......

Since he was done (last friday so only a few days) He has been pooing more, constantly all over the place. I recon im collecting a good handful every half and hour and putting in his litter tray.

Also he's peeing in several places, which im contantly clearing up and putting white vinegar down (read somewhere it might put them off peeing there again)

AND he's started spraying James!!! much to his distaste!!!

HELP!! at this rate James is going to have him downgraded to the garden!! Buddy was soooo litter friendly no mess whatsoever, and Harvey just seems to poo and wee anywhere now, he didnt as much before the op, but started to about a week before we took him to the VET.

Any suggestions gratefully received!!!!

thanks in advance!!!

It takes about 4 weeks for their hormones to calm down after 'the snip', though this isn't a set-in-stone figure as it can vary from bun to bun.
