  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I am taking my netherland dwarf poppy to the vets at 3.30 as I have a suspition his teeth are too long. I went outside at 1.00 and he was struggling with his teeth even though he had nothing in his mouth. I looked at his teeth and his right one was curling around.

I took him afew weeks ago though and he said they were fine but im SURE they are not!!! :x

Is there anyway you can tak a piccie of his teeth? Bunny's will grind there teeth even when theres nothing in there mouth

Sorry there isant a way I can get photos Im the only one he wil let look in his mouth my mum trie and he just struggled!

I dont think he is grinding them he is struggling, he keeps pawing his mouth as if something is stuck on them!

i know what u mean, mine is going to the vet about his teeth tomorrow and as he is a lionhead when he cleans his neck he often gets his long fur caught on his lower teeth (which arent the ones that are too long!) and ends up pawing at his mouth when theres a problem, its horrible to see especially when they won't let you try and help! good luck at the vets i hope they can do something soon as its scary how fast their teeth grow
