  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

i took holly on tuesday, she is a tiny little thing :) , sarah said she had here on burgress, so i bought a bag and offered her some with a little bit of science selective so i coukd start to see what the change over will be like, well she ate both, so on wednesday is gave here that again and again she ate is, but i have gone to feed the bunnies this morning as she has only eaten the ss

i have never had a bunny that prefers the new food to there old food before, will she cause heself any gut problems changing over so quickly!

When I changed to ss from RR my buns prefered it and the didn't have any tummy troubles. When I swap again to A&P they would only eat the SS

i will just keep an eye on her, but if she had told    me i would have not bought the bloody burgress as i am sick of throwing half bags of food away!

Mine did exactly the same too, eating the SS before the burgess but then when changing to A&P they still ate the SS first. I reduced the amount of pellets i gave them but continued to mix them until they were completely onto the new food.. this way they always emptied their bowls.
