  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

question

hi, i've checked through my lists in the house rabbit handbook by marinell harriman and passion flower is in none of the 3 class lists of poisonous plants... but i don't know if that means it is safe though. did ur bun eat some by accident? or were u planning to feed it? i would say that if it was by accident then i should imagine if it's not on the list then ur bun will be fine! if u were planning to feed it i'd check first or search online, hope this helps! :)

no my bunn didnt eat it. its growing over are fence from our next door neighbour and was wondering if we should trim it or if it was safe to leave as its very pretty. thanx for your help :D

No it isn't - or several of my rabbits would be dead :!:

I have one growing by my back door and it is Strawberry's mission in life to kil it I think  No matter how much wire I put around it he always gets to it in the end. They love the leaves and the fruit. He is not the only one to have had a go at it and none of them have been any the worse. It used to have lots more stems and trail over the fence, but now it only has the one thick stalk as they have eaten the rest.
