Tutorial: Upload & posting Images

The following are instructions on how to upload images to photobucket and post them on the forum. For more general ifo scroll down for the next post.

Visit www.photobucket.com and login to your account:



Once you are logged in, a page like this is displayed. The options on the right allow you to upload images.



Further down the page (use the scroll bar) thumbnails of photos you have already uploaded are display.


To add an image, go back to the upload options and click the browse button.



This opens a box that lets you select a file on your computer. Select the image and click open.



The filename of the image you selected will appear in the upload options. Now click submit.



Wait whilst the image uploads and it returns you to the page. If you scroll down now the image will have been added to your other images.



To display that image on the forum look for the text under each image



You need the text in the box labelled 'Img'. Click in the box to highlight the text.



The right click on the highlighted code and select 'copy' from the options displayed. Alternatively you can select copy from the Edit menu at the top of your web browser.



Open up the post on the forum you want the image in. And right click in the box where the text goes. Select paste from the options.



The code should appear. Make sure the box next to 'Disable BBCode in this post' is not ticked.



Now when you post the message the image should appear.

General Instructions:

Can I add images to my posts?

Yes, images can be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a seperate image host, we recommend http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.muchos.co.uk You cannot link to pictures stored on your own computer.

Uploading your images to an image host

First sign up with either http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.muchos.co.uk you will be asked to provide details such as a username and password. Once you have signed up follow the instructions to upload images from your cmoputer.

Adding an image to a post

To display an image, you must surround the web address pointing to the image with tags. For example:

[code][img]http://www.photobucket.com/images/myphoto.jpg[/code]

To get the image web address you can copy the code provided by your image host. If you are not using an image host or they do not provide the code you can copy the web address from the address bar of your web browser. To do this first find the image, then right click on it and select ''view image'. Then select the address shown in the address bar at the top of your browser and copy and paste it into your message.

To copy and paste the web address first highlight it by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse along the address. You can then copy it by pressing the 'ctrl' and 'c' buttons on your keyboard simultaniously, and paste it into your message by pressing 'ctrl' and 'v'. Alternatively once you have highlighted the address you can select 'copy' from the edit menu on you browser and then paste from the same menu.
