  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Critical Care Formula?

The vetark critical care formula is not a complete syringe food. You need either oxbow critical care or supreme science recovery. I am putting in an order with my wholesalers this week if anyone wants any oxbow cc.

mine all seem to prefer the oxbow critical care as it has aniseed in which they really like rather than the science recovery stuff.

it is really handy to have around, after this week of having lots of buns with diarrhoea and not eating it is good to have around.

hi

Hi

I get mine from Vets, its not cheap but they just give me a small amount rather than a whole container..eeeeeeeeeeeek thats not cheap.

I actully saved one of my rabbits once, dunno what was up, just no symptoms other than loss of appetite and very poorly, a few days on that it got over it, amazing stuff..

Sweety

I've got both in my bunny med cabinet but gotta say I find the Science Recovery brill to keep in - especially as I think it mentions that as well as being super high in fibre it actually stimulates gut movement too so its great for statis attacks
