The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. rabbits ears (temperature)

me again - sorry for all of my posts!

As some of you know Alfie has a cold but is getting better.

I know you can tell if a bunny is overheating through his ears.

I brought him in the other day for a run of the house and he's ears were cold! does this mean that he is cold? the rest of his body felt warm and he was happily running around. When i took him to the vets they were hot! he was stressed at that point so that is why.

So my question is, if a rabbit has cold ears but his body is warm does that mean he is cold in his hutch?? and vice versa with warm ears?

Thanks everyone and sorry for my constant posting!

My bunnys have cold ears some times. I may be wrong but i beleive that it means that they are at a good tempreture. The ears is just the only way they can get rid of heat..

Thanks honeyem!!

as long as he wasn't sitting in his hutch freezing then..id hate the thought of that especially in August! was wondering what he'd be like in the winter!

Bunnys are built very well for cold weather, there fur keeps them very warm. In winter just make sure that you give them extra hay so they can snuggle up and keep warm.

CAZZA269 No you shouldnt be worry if his ears are always warm. Is your rabbit quite active then his ears will be.. just keep an eye on him. if u get worried ring up your vets.
