  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Wise Old Thumper
Our daily Mishka check payed off today when we found some freshly laid eggs on her bum (right at the bottom between her legs).

This is the best picture I could get of them 'cus they're so small: :?

fly eggs

If you want to see what fly eggs look like put small piece of meat outside on a hot day an within an hour you will see tiny white specks on it   these specks are the flies eggs :( :( on a rabbit they can become maggots in 12 hours...they then start to EAT their way into the bunnies flesh also putting toxins in their blood stream. :( :(

Oh my gawd

Sorry for being so thick,I just didn't see them

Well thanks for that, at least I might have an idea what to look for now

Is she ok? Did you manage to get them off?

Yes she's fine. The eggs are easy to pick off. :D
I think she is getting use to it now, and we always give her a bit of biscuit as a treat after her wash so she doesn't stress so much now
