Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Stringy poos

I know this has been covered before but can't find what I'm after.

We just cleaned Oscars toilet out and there are a few poos strung together, I know this is because of all the hair he is swallowing but I don't understand why it is a bad thing

After all if it goes in, it has to come out,we are grooming him twice a day and getting loads of hair off when we stroke him and last week started giving kitty malt as I read on here to use it.

What more can we do?

Is it normal to expect a certain amount of these stringy poos?

Thanks in advance
Sue.x.

Aww hi Sue, he will pass some stringy poos as you can't stop him swallowing a bit of hair but you are doing all the right things to prevent a large blockage XXX

Yes, mine still get them but I brush them all the time. It is so warm at the moment I think it's to be expected to some extent. b-m

How many is it "safe" to find at a time though :?

The one we got today was four poos in a chain, I haven't seen that many before in any of my bunns

Um, normally mine produce 2-4 in a row, but not that often. I don't think you need to worry, just keep brushing as much as you can off, but I know it's hard - Sylvia seems to have a neverending moult
