  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Where I can get a large rabbit hutch with attached run. At present we have 3 bunnies in the kitchen and 2 in the lounge. My o/h has decided enough is enough and some of them have to go outside. So we are going to put the 3 babies in a large hutch with an attached run during the day, but I think we will bring them in at night as I am terrified a fox will get them.

I have looked on the internet and Mr Buns seems quite good, but I wondered whether anyone knew where we could get a hutch made to our specification, (at a reasonable price)as most of them I have seen aren't big enough, We want at least 4 feet by 3 feet house probably 2 or 3 stories with a run around 6' x 4'. I think that should be big enough as we are limited by the amount of garden we have available.

I've just bought a shed 6' x 4' and adapted it for the bunnies, you can add different levels to it gradually, attatch a run, and it offers more room and works out cheaper than buying a large hutch!

Focus DIY had one in the sale a few weeks ago for £75 be worth looking to see if the offer's still on!

We have a 5' x 5' x 4' wendy house with an 8' x 3' run attached via a cat flap. We bought the wendy house and my o/h made the run, I think with materials and stuff it came to a bit over £200.
