  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

When do testicles appear?

Have searched the forum for info but cant find any so QUESTION PLEASE!

Kami is 4 months old and no sign of testicles - could he be a she? I only ask cos a) want to get him neutered and get him a girlfriend and b) his dad Pip sired him at 4 months! :?

Sorry if this has already been asked!

It is possible they haven't decended. Are there two pale pink hairless patches either side of where his penis should be?

If you are unsure then probably a trip to the vet would be best as they could sex Kami and then tell you whether s/he is mature enough to be done yet.

Thanks Caz - I will take him to the vets - just seemed strange - mind you, he acts like a bloke - messy and prone to throwing his toys around!

hi there my british giant is now 4 months old and has no testicles as yet either, so today when i spoke to the vet he said if they are not therte by six months old he would have to take them out because there is a risk of cancer!

Thanks guys - had him sexed at 8 weeks by a vet AND a breeder and they both agreed he was a he! Will give him a couple of weeks to settle back in and then take him for a check.

Bunnylove - hadnt realised the diff between your 2 at first - is all ok now (do you remember I came up with the name suggestion?!)
