Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Discharge?

I was giving my bun (lolly) an all over check today and I noticed around her bum area she had white discharge. I cleaned as much of it off with water and am planning to give her a soak in some warm water in a few days. Does anyone know what this is and should I be more concerned and take her to the vets?

I'd be quite concerned about that as it could be a womb infection if she isn't spayed. I would take her to the vets asap to get it checked. If she isn't spayed and it is an infection she may need an emergency op to remove her uterous (in effect spaying her).

Where abouts was the discharge, can you see if it is coming from the vulva, or is it just the white discharge they sometimes get around there scent glands? Did the discharge smell (I know thats not very nice, ut often important).

its hard to tell where it is coming from, and yes it does smell. She has been spayed. Think I will pop her to the vets tomorrow just in case.

At least if she has been spayed you know it won't be a pyometra, so thats good. Let us know how she gets on at the vets!
