Can we keep signatures under about 590px by 200px. I love photos too but they make the pages load slower and if there are too wide make the page scroll sideways.

You can always link your signature to larger pictures elsewhere such as photobucket so people can click on them to see more piccies.

I think a good rule of thumb with signatures is "Does it break up the flow of the thread and make it hard to read?"

If your not sure how big your signature is, click on it with your right mouse buton and select properties. This will show you the information about the image including dimensions.

There is a Show avators/Show signatures option. If you set it to no they won't be displayed.

Not a spoilsport at all. Infact, without reading this thread, I just went ahead & made mine 125 pixels in hight but the width is not over the size limit. Tree, your siggy is perfect. Although, eminem2004, your sig height is 620 which is over the height limit, The width is good. :D Just trying to help. What do you think of mine? Also, could we have like the avatars 99x88 pixels? Sometimes the photos are so small being under 80x80 you can't see them clearly, like mine.

The trouble is the more images on a page the longer it takes to load. So if there are 10 posts on a page each with a signature & an avator it can take awhile for it to load. Thats why there are restrictions on size/file size.

If it's the one you are using now then it's smaller than mine, if it's another one then I put it in to photobucket and clicked on edit, then resize and made it smaller, copied the code and pasted into my signature

But your looks great to me, is that the one you mean?

Nope, you can't upload pictures direct to the forum. You need to host the image somewhere else on the internet, and then link to it in your sig.

I know they are very cute... not mine though:( actually i should post piccies of my two... all i seem to go on about are my foster buns, but i'd never trade my two for the world hehe!! I did mine really quickly using photobucket.com. I just uploaded a photo, and edited it. Then cut and paste the IMG link into the text of my signature
