I have 2 five year old rabbits. When one was at emergency vet recently for stasis (it was a mild attack with fast recovery) he said i should be expecting it at her age implying she was reaching end of life.
My bunnies are cross breed - one is lionhead cross, the other is a lop - both are 2.5kg in weight. When I initially acquired them I was thinking 10-12 years might be realistic, from web reports, but I now understand that might only apply to smaller bunnies. Mine live outside 8-9 months of the year and are indoors in room for winter months.
Just wondered what forum experience was - i.e. how long might i expect from normal size bunnies (accepting that noone has a crystal ball re my bunnies as individuals ) ?
thanks !
