  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Is it possible to overdose on fibreplex?

My fibreplex syringe got jammed, and I don't know if it was a bit more than 1 ml that I gave to my rabbit. I was just wondering if it does any harm or is it okay as it's just fibre?

How much more than the 1ml do you think he got? I'm sure if it's just a bit it'll be okay one time. Does your fibreplex have the spinning wheel thingy on it? It's great for setting to the next max dose so even if you push too hard it can't dispense more than the dose (hope that makes sense[emoji38]) should avoid this happening again :)

Yeh it has the wheel on it. I think it was 1ml and a half. When I first pushed it a little amount got squeezed because it got jammed, so I put the dial back a bit & squeezed again. Is the 1ml of fibreplex suppose to be equivalent to a full 1ml syringe? So I can have a comparison

I forgot to add that when i first pushed the plunger the fibreplex came out oily so I was hesitant to give it to Toasty, so I wiped it off the spoon and put the plunger back again and this time it was thick and grainy. I think this is happening because it's coming near the end of the tube :?

Give the tube a shake, it should mix up the ingredients :)
