  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

This is exactly what I need... I've tried boots, Tesco, 5 independent ones I could find..no one has it.. Or they just have a capsule... And no one can order this in, in this form...

Anyone got any ideas? D:

I've used it in the past. I think Biocare did a capsule that I just split up. My memories are hazy though.

I use the same one linked by Jacks Jane for my bun with sludge.......(I only discovered you can buy it only after my vet had charged me in the double figures for a bottle that cost £3 online!). They sell the same bottle on amazon too :) your vet can calculate the dose for liquid version for you.
I give it twice a day :) - much easier than messing around with quarter tablets!

Ahh! Thank you, that's really helpful :) I'll talk to my vet

How does your bun do on it? :)

We didn’t notice an affect straight away, it took a few months to really notice any difference but she also started some other meds at the same time so it’s hard to know exactly what made her better. We took her to a specialist and they suggested that her recurrent sludge was causing an irritation of her bladder leading to cystitis thus in turn causing more sludge because it hurt to wee.

I actually wrote a long post on your other thread yesterday about her and what we had tried but then got called away by my 4yr old without pressing send and when I came back it was deleted because I hadn’t pressed send and I didn’t have time to re-write! I’ll try and redo it again in a minute!
