Rabbit Awareness Week 2019- 1st-9th June- Spread the Word !

Are your Vets running any special Events for RAW this year ?

Could we, the RU Community do something ?? All suggestions welcome. Even individual acts such as giving out some RWAF Leaflets to friends and Family who have Rabbits, a one off Volunteering Day helping a local Rabbit Rescue (cleaning out hutches etc), A one off donation to a Rescue to cover the cost of a Vaccination or a neuter, asking local independent Pet Shops to display some RWAF Welfare Posters ,which can be downloaded from the RWAF website

https://rabbitwelfare.co.uk/

For anyone feeling really brave maybe organising a Coffee/Tea/Wine/Cake event to spread the word about what it really means to have Pet Rabbits. That they sure as heck are not 'low maintenance Pets'.

Just putting a Rabbit Welfare poster on the rear windscreen of your car can go a long way to spread the word- eg the 'A Hutch is Not Enough' poster of the importance of Vaccinations poster.

The mods and I are planning a little something to coincide with RAW; more details to follow. ;)

If anybody finds their vets aren't promoting RAW, it might be an idea to drop them a friendly email or post on their facebook page to ask them if they'll consider putting some posters up etc. It looks like there's a lot of literature available for the practices to use, so it shouldn't be too late for this year hopefully but, if they feel there's a demand, they might give it serious thought next year.

Sounds interesting :) We'll need some cheer during that week as it's the week of Trump's visit, the Brexit Withdrawal Bill vote and the Peterborough by-election
