Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hiya Ben, sorry cannot recommend a Vet in Bath, but just wanted to welcome you to the Forum :D
Perhaps if you are feeling brave you could pop across to Introductions and tell us a little about yourself and your rabbits (assuming you have one?two?three? or thirty perhaps like me??    )

Best wishes and I am sure someone on the Forum can help with your Vet matter..

Adele

Ps have just been told by a friend who lives Bath way, that there is an excellent Vet called Howard Taylor who specialises in small animals..the practice is second to none, but it is quite a way from you...but perhaps worth the trip?

I had a good vet when I lived in Bath, but I can't remember the name. He took care of my mice and was jolly cheap and friendly. I can remember the route I walked, so I'll work out where it was on a map if I can find one.

Ok, it was up towards the assembly rooms, I did a quick yahoo search for vets and the one that matched that area was 'Harrison Roger D 1 Rivers St Pl Bath, BA1 2RS' phone number 01225 313995. Not very scientific, and it's embarassing how bad my memory is. Anyhoo. That's who my vet was, I think.

He treated my mice for stroke (they were badly inbred and all ended up dying of strokes in the end) and got little Raychul mouse mostly back to normal again, didn't charge me for a couple of visits, and only really charged me for the treatments. He was a really nice vet. But I don't know how experienced he is with bunnies. Worth giving him a ring and asking if he's still there though. This is all about 6 years ago now.

Sorry for being a bit rubbish.

VickiC and I have two rabbits, Scrumpy and Rosie. ASFAIK, she has introduced herself and the bunnies.

Many thanks for the replies!

Ben
