  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi guys, i'm new here and happy to find this site. it's less than one month that someone gave a cute rabbit to me. and it is my first time that i have a rabbit so i have many questions about it. my rabbit's name is "Dani" . first of all, he has 2 kinds of output.first one is black round ones and i know it is ok, but the second one made me worry somehow. i don't know it is urine or it is diarrhea. because it is not just a transparent liquid. so i show you the picture i would be happy if anyone know what it is and tell me if i should be worry about it or not. thank you

Hello, that is urine :) Rabbit Urine can vary greatly in appearance

http://www.greendale.co.uk/rabbit_urinalysis.html

Are you in the UK ? I ask as if so you will need to register Dani with a Vet and arrange to have his vaccinations done :

http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?472636-Vaccinations-2019&p=7041560#post7041560

You may also want to have him neutered when he is old enough. Bucks (male Rabbits) can be neutered as soon as their testicles descend, this is usually at about 14-16 weeks but may occur sooner in some Rabbits.

There is a lot of very useful information available about Rabbit Care on the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund's website. I'd advise you to have a good look around it

I hope you will continue to post on RU :)

Phew - as JJ says, definitely urine (how clear it is & the colour can change dependant on diet).

Welcome to the forum - feel free to ask lots of questions, its how we learn (& when it comes to bunnies there is an awful lot to learn)

Hi there and welcome to the Forum

What you are seeing is rabbit urine, so no worries there :)

Rabbis often have a degree of sediment in their urine, due to the way they process and excrete calcium.

There's an explanation here of why rabbit urine is cloudy:
