  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

How much for a x ray?

Bugsthebun

One of my bunnies is eating very little again, she had stasis 2 weeks ago and did finally recover. Now she's eating fine and drinking fine, but not moving very much. Just wondering the price of x ray as I think they'll be the next step

All Vets set their own fees so you'd need to call your own Vet to discuss exact costs. Also costs depend on what Xrays are needed, how many, under sedation or GA....etc....etc

There are so many variants so as I have said, your best option is to request a quote from your own Vet.

Good luck :)

I'm really sorry to hear about your little bun.
Has your vet suggested an X-ray?

You can ring and ask the basic price, as vets do vary.

There's a rough guide here:

https://www.milfordvets.co.uk/price-list/

Often the first plate is the expensive one, and then subsequent X-rays come out less expensive.

One of mine has had a few X-rays at two different vets this year, and they've all come out around the £300/£400 mark. That includes the consultation fee, general anaesthetic, any meds needed and the X-ray itself. But it will vary for different places and I know some practices are cheaper, so definitely worth ringing and asking, they should be able to give you an estimate over the phone. Hoping your bunny is back to her normal self very soon x

My vets do a breakdown of bills. First xray is £60, each further xray that session around £20 but prices will vary a lot. Vibes for your bunny
