Is Norman a rex?

Yep, a Himalayan marked Rex. He had congenital heart disease, as did David & Becks I lost David & Becks before they were 2 years of age. They were Brothers
Norman was a Rescue from ARC, he was estimated to be about 4 when I lost him
That's so cool, I remember googling after I got my two all the different colourings you could get for rexes
Sad David and Becks had heart disease must have been awful as they were related and both had the same problem, do you think the rest of their litter was also effected? I often wonder about Atticus and Clementines problems and where the rest of their litter is.
Poor Norman, he looks like such a lovely bunny x

In the 20+ years that I have cared for numerous Rexes I have come to the conclusion that some breed lines are predisposed to congenital heart problems. All but one of my 'cardiac Rabbits' have been Rexes.
I think that eyesight problems can effect Orange Rexes
I cant provide any documented 'evidence', it is just my personal observations. On discussing Rexes and Heart Disease with one Exotics Specialist Vet he stated that he had seen and treated more Rexes with Heart problems than any other breed type.
As for David & Beck's Breeder, I contacted her when the boys were diagnosed and her response was to tell me to off
So I wrote to the BRC and I had a letter about the situation published in 'Fur and Feather' Magazine. Obviously I could not name the Breeder in that letter, but surprisingly enough in the subsequent issue of Fur and Feather a few other Breeders had letters of support for ME published.
I doubt it made any difference to what David & Beck's Breeder continued to do though
I only had Norman for a few weeks before he became poorly and he deteriorated rapidly. I only had him for about 6 months before I lost him
