Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit Wee ....

trav2004

New Kit
arthur is our 10 week old dutch rabbit,
and he has done a yellow slimy wee, also a orange one too.(yesterday)

Anyone have any ideas on what this maybe and is it anything to worry about?

thanks

i once asked about orange wee and was told it was due to carrots / tops Mubby had been eating .....

:D

cheeky has done that before . the orange wee was after eating a large carrot and it can also be slightly yellow but that is usually when he hasn,t been drinking much .

I once panic called my vet about red/orange wee - I felt a little silly later I must admit but better safe than sorry!

Zeus sometimes has white wee when he gets too much calcium rich veg such as kale so we have cut it down as too much calcium can cause bladder sludge.

    what a cheeky wabbit....we had to ban one of our houserabbits from the bedroom as he used his litter tray all day. As soon as we got into bed with the rabbit sitting at the end by our toes, he would wee..... :? :?  ...the bed had to be stripped, duvet washed, and we had to remake the bed all over again in the middle of the night!!...I was kinda tolerant of it, but my Husband one day declared..ITS EITHER ME OR THAT DARN RABBIT WHO SHARES YOUR BED, BUT NOT BOTH OF US   :?  So that was the end of rabbit dosing on end of bed  , and the wet sheets too :D

Why has someone not thought of writing to the Company that makes Pampers and ask if they will design nappies for bunnies

As I was saying in another thread the pic in my sig was taken about 10min before Zeus relieved himself all over our duvet (he had been away from his litter tray for a couple of hours poor thing)!

The look on the drycleaners face was a picture when I was explaining how the duvet got stained!!
