You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Hay and hutch after neuter?

Looking for a little advice! My male rabbits were neutered on Tuesday. They have been on cage rest on newspaper and vet bed since. I've let them each have a little run today and they seem fine. I was wondering about putting them back in normal hutches with a ramp and putting them back on hay tomorrow. Please could anyone share how long you kept your rabbits on cage rest and when you put them back on hay after the op? Thank you

My bunny wouldn't settle in his cage after he was neutered so he went back into his pen that night because that is the only place he would settle. I obviously just kept an eye on him the full time.

Hello there. The hay is no problem but the ramp might be. Can you close it off for a few more days so they just have either up or down and by next Tuesday they should be fine using the ramp as normal.

Normally I'd give 48 hours for stitches to settle. Just keep a close eye on them after that time by doing twice daily wound/stitch checks.
