Hello, my bunny Lily has a small scab next to her mouth; she's had it before but it keeps coming back, because she loves to chew with that side and aggravate it. Last time she had it the vet gave us a small tube of a gel called 'isaderm' (its normally for dogs but it works on bunnies) which helped before. The vet advised us to apply diluted hibiscrub first and then this gel, but now we've run out of hibiscrub but there's plenty of this gel, although it is a few months old... is it safe to use still? It's been tightly sealed, but I'm unsure.
I was wondering if anyone else's bunny has been given isaderm before for small wounds, and most of all, whether it can be applied without hibiscrub? Or should I just take Lily back to the vets?
