  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Combination of I'm an idiot and a houdini bunny who I didn't realise was so determined... Resulted in this.. Looks surface to me and she seems fine poor baby :( just want advice it's just happened and the vets shut I could take her down to vets4pets but the one near me is particularly unrabbit friendly in my experience :( so yea I've squirted it all with saline but should I panic? (it's three separate sections not one big section)

When you say it's a bite - who bit whom?

Saline is good :)

I would be tempted to do that every few hours and review tomorrow.

(and whatever it was you did, you're definitely not an idiot!)

Atticus bit Clementine :( Okay good thank you, that's what I'll do :) he's missing a little fur but that's all. Her cage has a flap which has to be swung out and lifted up ontop of the cage then it kinda balances at an angle pretty sure you'll have no idea what I mean haha but I didn't clip it shut properly and he was running around in another room escaped which was my fault also and then put his head under the flap enough to squeeze in... Then they were going round in circles and I grabbed one which turned out to be her - all happened in less than 30 seconds :(

No, ignore it as far as bonding is concerned.

What you saw then will have no bearing on how it will go when you try it 'properly' :)

Hope so because they were so sweet together when they were little like they really seemed to adore each other :)

Rabbits are funny creatures

If you do the bonding right, then there's no reason why it shouldn't work. What you saw was their knee jerk reaction to a territory issue.

Yea I'm wondering if when everyone is sorted I might be able to have all 3 bonded together but if not find a rescue bun for fleur when she's older :)

If you want a threesome, the best way to do it is all at once - i.e. not bond two first then add a third ...
But it depends on the circumstances, etc .........

Yea maybe I'll see :) the new one is very gentle and chill unlike the other two so maybe it wouldn't work either way can't leave her alone :)
