Meet Spencer! New Guide Dog Puppy!

I'd like to introduce you to my Guide Dog Puppy Spencer. He is 8 weeks old tomorrow and I'm absolutely smitten with him! He will be living with my family and I for about a year and we will be socialising him until he's ready for official training at a year old. This means we get to take him on trains, busses, into shops, restaurants, basically anywhere Guide Dogs could potentially go with their partners. Spencer is sponsored by Spen Valley High School which is how he ended up with his name! They chose it for him. He is such a lovely pup, so friendly and settled in brilliantly. He's met the rabbits and it's fair to say Primrose loves him! The other 2 don't seem bothered by him which is good as well. Primrose was binkying like crazy today though when he was laid next to their run. It was so lovely to see as I'd not seen her binky in quite a while! So cute! Spencer is just adorable and he is much smaller than the pictures seem to show. I love him to bits already and we've only had him 3 days! Can't wait for the year ahead and all the fun we will have! So here he is!

Oh my goodness! Look at his paws, he's gonna grow up so fast :lol: I would love to look after a guide dog pup, but I doubt I'll be in the position to do so for a very long time!

OMG he's adorable, I'm such a sucker for labs. Makes me a tad jealous I didn't get to enjoy my two at that age.

What a wonderful thing you are doing, you must get so attached.

The guide dog by us had to be rehomed due to epilepsy, but it was lovely as his puppy parents offered him his forever home so he went back to them to live.
